NEW: Gallery Show Proposal!

The Pedal Press gallery will be available for hosting shows by local artists through June 2025.

Use this online form to submit a proposal.

Proposals must include:

  • A letter of interest/show proposal
  • An artist's statement / bio
  • Image list with title, date, medium, and size
  • 6 to 10 images of recent work

We will review proposals in the order they are received. Multiple people may submit a single proposal for group shows; in that case, the artists’ statement should address the unifying theme of the show, and not individual artist’s statement/ bio.

The gallery will be open to public viewing when Open Studios and Workshops are taking place (Fridays from 4-8 and every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 11-1.

North State Equity Fund:
Open Studio/ Workshops/ Studio Rental

Funded by the United Way North State Equity Fund, Pedal Press and former Impact Grant residents are collaborating to continue offering FREE workshops to the community at the Pedal Press studio on Fair Street. Workshops will be offered every 2nd and 4th Saturday until June, when the CARD Print Camp takes over the studio space. Signups for the workshops will be linked on the website and on Instagram. These limited-space workshops will consist of a variety of artmaking practices, so sign up in the paragraph below to get on our mailing list.

Additionally, Pedal Press will begin offering OPEN STUDIO hours every Friday from 4-8 PM. Community members can pay $5/ hr to use the studio for working on their own art. BYO materials and projects, with some shared PP resources (pencils, pens, papercutters, etc). Pedal Press will offer quarterly trainings for orientation on screenprinting and intaglio printing presses/ materials so that community members can use these resources in a supported environment.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE--The Pedal Press studio is available for rental, for people looking for a place to offer their own community workshops. The studio can be rented for $50 for up to three hours on Sundays. Folks can charge whatever they wish for workshop participants. Space is limited--workshops should be limited to twelve participants or less, depending on material space needs. Contact us at the email below for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

Since 2017, the workers of Pedal Press have donated almost all of their time and labor to both staff PP, and create its structure and function. If you want to get involved with our work, we have several ways to participate. Please fill out this brief survey to indicate what feels like a good fit to you.

If you want to stay in touch, please send an email to pedal2thepress@gmail.com letting us know you'd like to be added to our mailing list.

And: THANK YOU!
Your support for Pedal Press made it possible for us to become a non-profit.
All donations are now tax-deductible, and we are actively seeking grant funding.

This will increase our ability to create intergenerational spaces, supports and structures to explore individual and collective identities through printmaking.
